A medium-sized deciduous tree species with a pyramidal to oval crown featuring birch-like, oval, toothed, clean and attractive, medium green foliage that turns golden-orange in autumn. In spring, male and female flowers appear on separate catkins followed by clusters of small, three-lobed nutlets in summer. Fluted trunk and smooth gray bark lends to its year-round interest in the landscape. Use as a low maintenance tall hedge, disease resistant shade tree specimen or street tree.
