Coreopsis verticillata A vigorous variety of Tickseed, this plant offers drama mid-summer through fall with its big yellow flowers that feature a ring of burgundy around the center that streaks to the tips of the petals and, ultimately, becomes the dominant color in fall. It is also extremely hardy, drought tolerant, humidity tolerant, and road salt tolerant. The medium-textured foliage olds up well in the heat of lat esummer. Pairs well with coneflower and bellflower. Shear after initial flowering to fresh up the foliage, if desired. Makes a great companion to Yarrow, Salvia, Sedum, Rudbeckia, and Gaillardia varieties.
