An unusual Gaura with tricolor, (green, red to rose-pink and cream), foliage and deep to light pink, 4-petaled flowers that are produced at the tips and sides of its branches over a late spring to autumn bloom period. This plant is reminiscent of dainty, rose to soft pink butterflies fluttering in the wind. Gaura is a fantastic cut flower and container plant that blooms prolifically if deadheaded. Best planted in sunny, well-drained gardens with bee balm, Nepeta and lamb's ear. Plant in a moist but well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like compost and planting mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use slow release fertilizer in spring or at planting; reapply midsummer. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Winter protection is recommended.
