Aster novae-angliae New England Asters are late summer to fall producers of small, vivid colored, daisy-like flowers with yellow centers. New varieties have been bred for excellent disease resistance, compact, mounding habit and late season show. Part of the KICKIN® series, 'Pink Chiffon' produces a profusion of semi-double, pastel pink flowers with a golden button center. Easy to grow in containers or in the cutting garden with good disease resistance. Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary.
