'Fanal' is an award-winning variety that displays the darkest red flowers of all Astilbes, blooming early to mid summer with narrow, dark, crimson red plumes above bronze foliage. Plant in moist, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1?"of water, once a week, for the first year. Do not let them dry out. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring every 3-4 years, after cutting back the foliage.
