Ornithogalum dubium This African native, commonly called star of Bethlehem, orange star flower, snake flower or chincherinchee, is a gorgeous addition to any houseplant collection. Ornithogalum produces clusters of 15-20 small blooms in spring. Water weekly to keep the potting soil slightly moist from fall through spring. In summer, when the leaves die, cut back the dead parts, stop watering and set the pots in a dry spot. Feed with Osmocote or Miracle-Gro April-September. Keep indoors over winter, and grow outside over the summer.
