'Coronation Gold' is a hybrid of A. filipendula and A. clypeolata. Yarrow, a.k.a. Sneezewort, produces mustard-yellow blooms summer through fall. Gray-green foliage has a spicy aroma which stays with the foliage as it dries in arrangements. This variety resembles the fern-leafed parent but is more compact. May need staking, especially in full sun. This plant is also very resistant to heat, drought, humidity, wind, and even road salt, but does poorly in wet or heavy soil. If you have a spot in the garden where it's tough to grow flowers, consider Achillea. Enjoys room to spread. Remove spent blossoms to promote continuous flowering. Divide every 4-5 years, if/as needed, in spring.
