Witherod Viburnum is a dense multistemmed deciduous shrub that grows in moist areas in nature. Leave emerge bronzy, then turn dark green in summer and orange to red to purple in fall. Clusters of white flowers appear in late spring and produce green fruits that ripen pink, then red, then blue-black. Berries remain on the plant after leaf drop. Great in borders, as a hedge or specimen planting. Prune after flowering to create and maintain desired form. Remove a few of the oldest stems as needed to rejuvenate the plant late winter/early spring.
