Wisteria 'Longwood Purple' 3 Gallon

Wisteria frutescens

A bushy, native variety of American wisteria that develops fragrant, 4 to 6-inch long, showy, deep violet-purple blooms (racemes) early in its growth attracting pollinators. It flowers heaviest in late spring, but does have the ability to repeat bloom sporadically in summer. Grow on sturdy support structures, arbors, railings, in containers, or on other tree trunks surrounded by shrub roses, daisies and other cottage garden perennials. American wisteria is not as aggressive as Asian types, but still requires regular training and pruning. Prefers well-drained, moist, slightly acidic soil, but tolerates drought and possesses good deer resistance.
