This is a cold hardy, aromatic, evergreen groundcover produces festive, glossy dark green foliage with red to purple highlights and showy, pea-sized red berries that persist through the winter months. Perfect for sunny windowsills and makes a festive holiday companion with Cypress and Cyclamen indoors. Wintergreen can be planted outside in spring after the last chance of frost. Its foliage is the natural source of wintergreen oil. Care Notes: Grow in part shade to bright indirect light, near an east or north facing window. They prefer cooler temperatures of 55-65 degrees F. Keep the soil evenly moist, and reapply water when the top 1" of soil is dry to the touch. Good drainage is important; they cannot tolerate "wet feet". Place away from hot drafts. Fertilize with Holly-tone when planting outdoors in spring.
