A fantastic, narrow-growing, upright Arborvitae that is perfect for small spaces. It features aromatic, creamy green, soft textured foliage that provides an excellent contrast with its brown-orange stems. Planted in multiples, 'Sugar & Spice' makes a wonderful green screen and tall hedge for year-round privacy. These plants are very tolerant of heat, drought, and deer. Plant propagation prohibited. Plant in well-drained, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water once a week the first year. Little pruning is needed, as this plant shapes itself nicely. You may remove dead branches any time. When necessary, prune or shear in late fall to early spring, just 2-3 inches at a time. Fertilize in early spring, mid-summer, and fall with an acidic fertilize, according to package instructions. Mulch 2 inches to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature. May shed interior leaves in fall.
