Raulston's Sweetshrub is a cross between C. floridus and C. chinensis. It is a large upright shrub with a suckering habit. Flowers are mildly fragrant, reddish-brown, and bloom in April to May. Fragrance v is described as fruity with banana, pineapple and strawberry notes. Seed capsules mature in fall and remain through winter. Dark green foliage turns golden in fall. Leaves are fragrant when bruised.
