Quercus bicolor This fast growing, broad pyramidal to oval canopy shade tree is a tough, adaptable Ohio native. It produces glossy green leaves that turn yellow but sometimes reddish purple in fall. It is heat, air polluntion, clay soil and wet soil tolerant, and also drought tolerant. An excellent, strong, wetland or rain garden tree, and its acorns are a natural wildlife food source feeding songbirds, turkeys, ducks, etc.
