Sea Thrift produces spiky, green, grass-like foliage that displays sturdy little stalks tipped with a brilliant ball of colorful flowers. It is low in maintenance, salt tolerant, perfect in rock gardens, and lovely when planted around the mail box or in sunny containers. Dreameria® Dreamland is a dark salmon flowering variety with a tidy habit that provides frost-to-frost, continuous flowering over a long season spring to fall in containers and also in the garden, when spent flowers are removed. Plant in well-drained to dry, nutrient-poor soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Fertilize in early spring and mid-summer with a multipurpose fertilizer. Remove spent flower stems down to the basal foliage to promote reblooming. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
