This annual, Mealycup Sage variety is a garden classic producing tall, deep blue flower spikes resembling lavender over compact, gray-green foliage. In general, these very dependable annual thrillers perform best in the sun, heat and drought. They are excellent pollinator attractants, cut flowers, and provide long lasting color for garden beds or sunny, mixed container gardens. Mealycup Sage varieties can be deep blue, light blue, lavender, and silvery white spike flowers over gray-green foliage. They are very deer resistant, drought and clay soil tolerant too. Grow in sunny areas, well-drained, amended soil or containers. Feed with a slow release fertilizer following label instructions. Repeat flowering, and often self-cleaning, but trim to maintain better blooming and a tidy habit. Mulch 2? to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
