An elegant, broadleaf evergreen shrub with a compact, rounded habit that produces a ball-shaped truss of frilly, funnel-like, two and half-inch, purple-red, spring flowers with a deep red blotch and shiny, slightly wrinkled, medium green foliage. Rhododendrons can be used for part shade foundation plantings, borders or hedges, and make very good pollinator attractants. Plant with ferns, Heuchera, and Astilbe. Best planted in northern or eastern exposure in well-drained but moist, acidic soil. Bred in Euclid, Ohio.
