Nerium oleander This easy-to-grow, tropical flowering shrub is known mostly for its abundant and sweetly scented flowers. In cooler climates, oleander is often grown outdoors in container gardens because of its beautiful display of flowers. Note: Oleander may be poisonous. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles over winter. Feed with Osmocote or Miracle-Gro April-September. Keep indoors over winter, and grow outside over the summer. Grow with other sun loving, flowering tropical plants such as Croton and Plumbago.
