The mountain hydrangea family is similar to the bigleaf family in that it offers gorgeous flowers with either full pom-pom mopheads and also lacecap style flowers in shades of blue and pink. However, mountain varieties come with increased cold hardiness, more compact growth habits, and the capacity to re-bloom by producing buds and flowers on both old and new wood. Let's Dance Can Do!™ is an innovative variety with the unique ability to create buds and blooms along the entire length of the stem. It also re-blooms quicker than others, so you won't have to wait long to see new flowers. Flower style is a very showy lacecap featuring pretty, sterile florets as well as fertile florets to support pollinators. Plant in well-drained to moist, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once per week, for the first year. Prune down only to uppermost fresh green growth once foliage begins to crack in spring. Remove any dead or winter damaged stems at that time, as well. Feed early spring and mid-summer with a slow release fertilizer per label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and to protect against extremes of soil temperature.
