A new and adorable member of the KnockOut® Rose family, 'Petite' is a little firecracker of a rose that packs the same non-stop flowering punch of the original KnockOut® rose series, only in a miniature, 18" package. It also offers the same phenomenal disease resistance and laid-back, easy care of its older siblings. From summer to frost, this tiny landscape rose shrub is covered in abundant 1.5" double, non-fading, fire engine red flowers that form over bushy, deep green, glossy foliage. This shrub is extremely cold tolerant down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit, making it a hardy choice for Northeast Ohioans. Perfet in sunny containers, as a floriferous front border, or anywhere you'll enjoy blooms all season. Plant in well-drained, amended soil 2' apart. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week, for the first year. Prune down to 6-12" in spring; blooms best on all new wood. Feed at least three times (full leaf, after first bloom, and in August) during the growing season with a slow-release fertilizer per label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
