This showy cross between Star and Kobus Magnolias results in a rounded to broad specimen tree with multi-stem, clump form that produces large, 15 plus petaled, fragrant flowers in spring with clean white interior and white with blush pink base exterior. Flowers will form into vibrant red aggregate fruits in the fall. This vigorous grower is perfect for landscape specimens, a large patio container or cutting garden. Plant in protected areas with well-drained to moist, acidic, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water once a week the first year. Prune in spring immediately after flowering to control size, and remove stray shoots or damaged limbs anytime. Feed early spring and mid-summer with a slow release fertilizer.
