Syringa vulgaris 'Belle de Nancy' is an upright, deciduous shrub with bright pink double flowers that are incredibly fragrant, blooming in spring. For best flower display every year, prune back spent flowers before they seed. Plant in well-drained to moist, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week the first year. Feed early spring and mid-summer with a slow release fertilizer. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2" to supress weeds, retain moisture and protect against exremes of soil temperature.
