Native to Japan, Korea and China and rare in North American cultivation, Konara Oak was first brought to North America in 1893 by Arnold Arboretum. Slow growing and seems to stay small in Ohio. Leaves are shiny green on top, white beneath, oval, and serrated, unlike other Ohio oaks. Fall color is green, orange and red. Acons are small, around half an inch and one-third covered by the cap.
