Kalanchoe blossfeldiana Kalanchoe are succulent, flowering houseplants with olive-green, scalloped foliage. They are heavily budded and come in a variety of cheerful bloom colors including light and dark pink, red, yellow, white and orange. Blooms are naturally produced in winter, just as the days begin to lengthen, and flowering continues for 2-3 months. The Kalanchoe habit is compact, making it perfect for table-top containers or mixed dish gardens with other succulents. Grow in bright, indirect lighting from an eastern or northern exposure window, or under fluorescent lighting. Prefers average to warm household temperatures, 65°-80°F. Let the soil dry out between water applications. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with any multi-purpose fertilizer during the main growing season, April-September. Remove spent flowers and leggy branches back to a green leaf node.
