Mahonia japonica
A dense, evergreen shrub with incredibly fragrant yellow flowers that bloom in spring. Its large, spindled, holly-like foliage is a bluish-green hue. Bunches of small blue-black ornamental fruits follow the flowers in late spring to early summer, attracting birds. Grow multiple shrubs together for best fruit production. Prefers moist, well-drained, amended soil.
