Japanese Forest Grass 'All Gold' 1 Gallon

A brilliant, golden yellow ornamental grass that resembles a low growing, cascading bamboo! 'All Gold' is slightly more upright and vigorous than its cousin 'Aureola' but its clump forming, graceful mounds of foliage are a pure gold to chartreuse, able to brighten any shade garden! Hakonechloa grasses make excellent spillers in containers, Asian or Zen garden accents, or highlight woodland areas combined with Hydrangea, ferns, Coral bells, and Astilbe. Clumps do spread gently via rhizome. Divide in spring. Plant in moist to well-drained, average to rich soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use slow release fertilizer in spring or at planting. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. In general, cut ornamental grasses down as low as possible in late winter.
