Ixora coccinea Sometimes called flame of the woods, Ixora is a member of the Rubiacea family. Blooms consist of four-petaled, clustered florets which can last up to six weeks. In cooler climates, flowers are most prolific in the summer but can appear all year when kept indoors. Plant in rich, well-drained soil and keep the soil evenly moist, especially in hot weather. Feed with Osmocote or Miracle-Gro April-October. Grow with other sun loving flowering tropical plants such as Jasmine, Hibiscus, Bougainvillea, and Citrus.
