Dense, bushy evergreen shrubs with strong purple stems and spiny, blue-green, glossy foliage. One of the hardiest of hollies with a "true" holly appearance. 'China Boy' is the male counterpart of 'China Girl', and is required for the female variety to produce berries. These hollies make superb, deer resistant choices for a specimen planting, foundations or low hedges. Evergreen foliage provides year-round interest and berries supply a winter food source for the birds. Plant with Red-twig Dogwood, Falsecypress, and Hydrangea.
