Aka maidenhair tree is an ancient species of large deciduous trees that develop distinctive, leathery, two-lobed, bright green leaves that resemble fans. Male tree varieties are most commonly bred and available today to avoid the foul-smelling fruit produced by female ginkgo trees. 'Princeton Sentry' is an attractive, male cultivar with stiffly upright branching and narrow, conical form. Leaves mature to a striking golden yellow providing excellent fall interest with the color persisting for several weeks. Tolerant of drought, urban settings, clay and moist soils. An excellent selection for a street tree, smaller spaces, and along a fence line. Plant ferns, Astilbe, and sedges underneath. Propagation prohibited.
