Acer rubrum Columnar variety. This specimen shade tree has an attractive, oval-rounded form. It's prized for its intense crimson fall color which lasts for several weeks in autumn. It produces small red flowers in spring followed by red samara (seed helicopters). Foliage starts out glossy, deep green and turns to deep red. This makes a great choice for a street tree, lawn specimen, or as a transition between woodlands and the home landscape. A very adaptable Ohio native.
