Ficus carica Fig trees are an easy-to-grow, generally disease-free fruiting tree. Plants are continuous producers from July to frost, and the figs can be eaten fresh from the tree, preserved, or used in cooking. They can be maintained to a height of 6 feet when contained within a pot. They can be grown outdoors in Northeast Ohio but should be wrapped and stored as a cold treatmet over winter in order to properly set fruit. Plant in slightly acidic to neutral soil.
