'Chicago Hardy' is also known as 'Hardy Chicago' and 'Bensonhurst Purple'. Fruit is pear shaped with golden brown to purple skin and strawberry-pink pulp. Bears fruit early on new growth, early summer on old wood. May die to the ground without protection. Self-fruitful.
