This amazing Bleeding Heart hybrid combines the tougher sun and heat tolerance of the fern-leaf types with vibrant, later to bloom, but longer lasting, dark rose heart shaped flowers. The attractive fern-leaf foliage is low and mounding, lacy in texture, and a showy silvery, blue-green hue. The deep rose-pink flowers develop on 14" tall stems in clusters, blooming May-July and into fall if soil is kept cool and moist. Plant in moist, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like planting mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use a slow release fertilizer in spring or at planting; reapply in summer. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall. Combine with Heuchera and Brunnera.
