This dwarf evergreen produces a mounding, bird's nest-like shrub with pendulous tips covered in short, soft, bright green needle-like foliage, and small, half-inch, brown cones. This variety is best planted in shady, sheltered locations in evenly moist, well-drained, amended soil with a 2-inch layer of mulch. Providing year-round interest in shady, wooded sites, plant it near slopes, rock walls, and with Astilbe, Clethra, and bleeding hearts.
