Cucumber Tree Magnolia 'Golden Gift' 5 Gallon

Cucumber tree is native to Ohio, and is typically found in moist soils. This deciduous magnolia produces mildly fragrant, greenish-yellow, tulip-like flowers in May, followed by green warty seed cones that resemble cucumbers. These fruits mature to red in late summer, eventually letting red coated seeds dangle from threads when ripe. 'Golden Gift' is a smaller, pyramidal form. Large yellow-green leaves turn a pleasant gold color in fall. Plant in well-drained to moist, acidic, amended soil.
