Microsorum musifolium 'Crocodyllus' Ferns are a classic shade plant family with numerous tropical/houseplant varieties. All are excellent as air purifying container plants, beautiful growing in hanging baskets, or displayed in terrariums, a humid bathroom or kitchen. 'Crocodyllus' resembles a Bird's Nest Fern displaying a dense clump of upright, arching, strap-like, bright green fronds that have a distinct crocodile scale pattern on its foliage. This is a tropical fern that grows best in well-drained potting mix. Due to their waxy, semi-succulent foliage, they can tolerate warmer, slightly drier conditions compared to other fine leaf ferns. Grow in bright to medium, indirect lighting from an eastern or northern exposure window, or under fluorescent lighting. Prefers cool to average household temperatures, 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray mist regularly and keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with indoor plant fertilizer April-September per package instructions. Grow indoors over winter.
