This variety displays pure silver leaves with near-black veins. In cooler weather, the leaves will develop pink highlights, as well. The plant forms a dense mound of foliage with oversized, well-lobed, cup-shaped leaves that create a dynamic sillhouette. Pale yellow flowers rise up from the mound during summer. Plant in well-drained to moist, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Fertilize in spring. Cut back spent flower stems for a neat appearance. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
