This variety has yellow green leaves that feature red petioles, and it forms a dense mound of foliage. Stems emerge in summer to hold white flowers that attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and support bees. This plant is long blooming, salt tolerant, and native to North America. Plant in well-drained to moist, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Fertilize in spring. Cut back spent flower stems for a neat appearance. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
