Citrus Orange 'Navel' 5 Gallon

Citrus Orange 'Navel' 5 Gallon

Citrus sinensis
These smaller, dwarf type variety plants are cultivated to produce fresh, flavorful Navel oranges in containers. One of the finest oranges to eat, the fruit is incredibly flavorful, seedless, and easy to peel. The plant gets its name from a distinctive feature, that being the presence of a navel, or small rudimentary secondary fruit embedded in the apex of the primary fruit. The plant matures to a small, rounded tree with deep green, umbrella-like foliage. Plant in a well-draining potting mix. Grow in full sun, 6+ hours of direct sun per day. Grow outdoors after last spring frost, bring back indoors after 1-2 light frosts in fall. Prefers warm to average household temperatures, 60°-85°F. Keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles over winter. Fertilize with an acidic fertilizer such as Citrus-tone April-September.
