An easy to grow evergreen shrub with attractive, dark green, flat but pointy, fine textured foliage covering a dense, upright-columnar habit. 'Citation' is similar to 'Hicksii', maybe a bit shorter and narrower. Taxus, in general, are durable, long lived and easy to maintain. They tolerate heavy pruning, especially in spring, and are disease resistant. They are also rabbit resistant, tolerant of deep shade and drought, and their fleshy red berries are enjoyed by songbirds. Best used as a backdrop, screen or hedge. Plant with lilacs and hydrangeas.
