All Junipers provide year round interest, possess excellent deer resistance, and can be grown as topiaries, small hedges, specimen, or in mixed landscape borders and containers. 'Fairview' is a dense, upright, columnar to pyramidal evergreen that is popular due to its versatility, ease of maintenance, and attractive appearance. Great as a hedge, natural screen or specimen plant. Plant with other evergreens, Spirea, Grasses, and deciduous Holly. Plant in well-drained, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week the first year. Little pruning needed; shapes itself nicely. Remove dead branches trunk suckers or shear any time. When necessary, prune in spring to early summer. Fertilize in early spring, mid-summer and fall with an acidic fertilizer. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. Wrap pyramidal forms with twine or burlap to protect from winter damage.
