This high quality Nantes F1 hybrid produces 6-7 inch long, cylindrical, bright orange roots with a tapered end. This variety has an amazingly sweet, well-rounded flavor and uniform root size. 'Romance' is a great cold crop producing vigorous healthy top growth, and stores well in the frig. Use fresh, steamed, roasted, boiled or in soups and stews. Excellent source of antioxidants, fiber, calcium and vitamin A. Sow or plant every 3 weeks for continuous harvest. Carrots are excellent garden companions to rosemary, lettuce, onions, and peas. Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient-rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, following label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
