Bush Tart Cherry 'Cutie Pie' 3 Gallon

Bush Tart Cherry 'Cutie Pie' 3 Gallon

Prunus x kerrasis

'Cutie Pie' is a super compact cherry best grown as a bush. Dark red cherries are sweeter than other tart cherries, and are suitable for pies, juice and eating fresh. Cold hardy variety. Self-fertile but yields more if planted in multiples. Blooms white in the spring and fruit ripens in August. May be grown as a tree or bush. Plant in well-drained, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week the first year. Prune in late winter to control size and form or after flowering. Remove dead or damaged stems at any time. Feed at least twice during the growing season with a slow release fertilizer in early spring and again mid-summer. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
