An easy to grow, upright, evergreen shrub with glossy green foliage on a vigorous, compact form. Its shaped conical form makes it an ideal choice for topiary, deer resistant specimens, or used in containers for year round interest. Can be pruned into other desired shapes or sheared to form a formal hedge. 'Schmidt' maintains fgood winter color and the 4" per year growth rate means that it maintains a shear very well for hedging while also growing at a reasonable rate.
