Nephrolepis exaltata 'Compacta' Ferns are a classic shade plant family with numerous tropical/houseplant varieties. All are excellent as air purifying container plants, beautiful growing in hanging baskets, or displayed in terrariums, a humid bathroom or kitchen. 'Compacta' is a more dense Boston Fern variety developing bright, medium green foliage with more compact, slightly curled, strong, sword-like fronds. A smaller, trailing fern more tolerant of heat and lower humidity compared to other Boston varieties. Bring this tropical fern indoors for winter. Prefers bright, indirect light, a few hours of morning sun, cool temperatures (around 60-70 degrees), and high humidity. Feed with indoor plant fertilizer April-September per package instructions. ASPCA listed non-toxic for cats and dogs.
