This compact, native blanket flower produces large, copper-orange daises with golden yellow, fluted petals over silvery green foliage. They flower continuously from early summer to fall with deadheading. Use in a pollinator or rock garden, or sunny front border with Salvia, tickseed and yarrow. Good container garden plant. They possess excellent tolerance to heat, drought, rabbits and deer. Plant in light, well-drained, average to low fertility soil amended with organic matter like compost or planting mix. Intolerant of heavy clay. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Fertilize in spring and again in summer after removing spent flower stems to encourage reblooming. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary. Propagation prohibited.
