Ferns are a classic shade plant family with numerous tropical/houseplant varieties. All are excellent as container plants, trailing from hanging baskets, or displayed on a bathroom counter. Bird's Nest Fern displays a series of upright, spoon-shaped, bright green fronds that stem from a central rosette. Grow in bright to medium, indirect lighting from an eastern or northern exposure window, or under fluorescent lighting. Prefers cool to average household temperatures, 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray mist regularly and keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with indoor plant fertilizer April-September per package instructions. Grow indoors over winter.
