A delight in the garden for all pollinators, Bee Balm, or Monarda, puts on a show of mint-scented blossoms on sturdy, square stems. New varieties are resistant to mildew. The plant prefers moist soil, good air circulation, and looks great when planted with other cutting or cottage-style garden plants. 'Balmy Rose' produces vivid, rosy-pink flowers in dense, globular heads late spring through summer above upright stems decorated with aromatic, dark green leaves. A dwarf variety, this plant has good mildew resistance and performs well in the landscape.
