This exciting, rare, hard-to-find variety of Basil is sweet and fragrant with a mild citrus taste. The lime scent of the bright green, lance-shaped leaves pairs well with lemon basil for a full taste explosion of tangy, fresh flavor. Excellent for flavoring sauces, dressings, and desserts, not to mention chicken, fish, and fruit salad dishes. Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient-rich soil or containers amended with organic matter. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow-release fertilizer per label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. Harvest one-third of the new, tender foliage in the morning. Dry or freeze extra for future use. Remove flowers for better leaf production.
