A dwarf, carefree, thorny, deciduous shrub. Leaves emerge rich burgundy in spring that matures to soft reddish-black in the fall. Develops its best foliage color in full sun. A selection from 'Crimson Pigmy' at Leo Gentry Nursery in Gresham OR in 1989. Sunscald resistant. A superb choice for adding color and contrast in borders or foundation plantings year round. Great for small space and container gardens. Combine with Knock-Out Roses and Ornamental Grasses.
