Aromatic Aster 'Raydon's Favorite' 1 Gallon

Symphyotrichum oblongifolium

Aromatic Asters are bushy perennials typically found in dry open areas. Flowers from late summer into fall for a long period. leaves are fragrant when crushed. 'Raydon's Favorite' is tall, with violet blue flowers. It does not come true to seed, so it should be cut back after flowering to prevent seeding. Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary.
